From October 2023 to October 2024, I was part of the community around the Twitch streamer Haselnuuuss, where I began to discover the art of "memes" for myself after a while.
This happened roughly at the same time that I was also exploring generative AI - and thus took every opportunity to be creatively active in certain (often questionable) ways.
When she started exploring the classic game Doom³ on August 3, 2024, and stumbled upon the Super Turkey Puncher 3 in Level 1, Mars City, which is quite entertaining and in a way represents an ancestor of clicker and rhythm games, I felt inspired to take this up immediately.
In the Lore of the streamer, squirrels were considered the "archenemy" - and thus the Super Hasel Puncher 42 was created in a night-and-fog action in Godot 4 for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and as WebAssembly also for mobile platforms (iOS / Android).
The game does not offer much in-depth content - similar to the original, it is limited to a captured squirrel, which is now exaggeratedly held accountable for its constant nut theft.
Each "hit" increases the score - if you manage to do it in a certain rhythm, it gives bonus points.
The graphics were generated via OpenAI Dall·E 3.
The fonts "Kenney Blocks" and "Kenney Future Narrow" by Kenney were licensed under Creative Commons CC0.
Sound effects and voice-over were generated using ElevenLabs.io Text-to-Speech and Text-to-SFX.
The music was manually created using LMMS.
